FLG: On the result of your perception of God, loving difficult people, and the alternative to the pain that comes with personal growth
Happy FLG Thursday,
Here are 3 thoughts from me, 1 quote from someone else, and 1 question focused on faith, leadership, and personal growth to consider this week…
3 Insights On Faith, Leadership, and Personal Growth
I.
Faith
“How you view God determines the quality of your relationship with God.
Who is He to you?
A compassionate Father who wants the best for you?
Or simply an authority figure that harshly critiques everything you do?
Do you see Him as the source of all your needs?
Or only as a helper—but only when you hold up your end of the bargain?
Your perception of God shapes how you engage with Him.
Because how you view God…determines the quality of your relationship with God.”
(Matthew 16:15-17)
II.
Leadership
“Loving difficult people is…difficult.
But what often makes it harder isn’t just their difficult behavior—it’s the unrealistic expectations we place on them:
If we’re really for each other, we should agree on everything.
They will never do anything to hurt or disappoint me.
They should automatically understand where I’m coming from.
The truth? Humans are complex. And every relationship—whether it’s personal, professional, or spiritual—comes with a risk. The risk of being misunderstood. Let down. Disappointed. But that doesn’t mean the relationship isn’t worth it. It means love has to lead when comfort won’t.
Remember, Jesus loved difficult people. Including you and I. And we have the assignment to love other people. Even the difficult ones.
As a leader, you don’t become stronger by avoiding difficult people. You grow by loving them wisely.”
III.
Growth
“Personal growth is painful.
But there’s nothing more painful than the regret of staying the same.”
1 Quote From Someone Else
“The world needs people who put creative work out into the world. What seems simple to you is often brilliant to someone else. But you’ll never know that unless you choose to share.”
- James Clear
1 Question To Consider
If you only accomplished one personal goal this year, what would it be?
Until next week,
